my car has suddenly started shaking and being very noisy should I get my exhaust checked or is it an engine problem?
its a renault megane sport alize 1.4 x reg
The vibration could be your car misfiring on one or more cylinders - this would cause the engine to shake a bit....but I think you need a professional diagnosis on this one, Mags. Sounds like you've spent enough already!

sitting at traffic lights and it started vibrating quite badly and became very noisy...i've recently had a lot of work done , timing belt, cylinder head gasket and water pump so not sure what it could be now...thanks

You certainly should get the exhaust seen to if you think that it is blowing - although I can't see why this would cause the car to shake.....
