My van recently started overheating and losing water, since then I have had the water pump replaced by a mechanic. The next day clouds of white smoke came out of the exhaust which was the head gasket and has now been rectified, however the fan is now not cutting in when the engine is running. What could be the cause of this and would it be expensive to put right. Your help is much appreciated.
this could be the fan motor itself but you can test that by running it straight from the battery, or poss the thermostat, radiator fan relay or the thermo gasket, or a sensor all depends which it could be on price really
