how do i fit a drive belt to a hotpoint wf340 washing machine?

I tried securing the belt with cable ties as suggested and it worked, simple, why didn't I think of that.

Hi Paul - I had a similar machine and had trouble getting the belt on. The solution is to put the belt on the motor pulley first and then get as much of the belt on the drum pulley as you can and then secure the belt (the bit that is just before it veers off the pulley) onto the drum pulley with cable ties. You need quite strong ones, something about 5mm wide and maybe two to four. This keeps the belt on the drum pulley as you rotate it. When the belt is seated on the pulley, carefully cut off the ties with wire cutters. After struggling for some time this tip worked fine for me.
