Mend Volkswagen Polo Engine Management 2003

engine management and keeps stalling?

i have a 2003 VW polo that is a 1.4 engine.
the engine managment light came on so a went and got it checked out,
the guy saw there was no serious fault and couldn't explain why the light had come up.
he sed it was prob a glitch in the system.

but sometimes when i'm braking and in gear 1 or 3, the engine just cuts out for no reason.
what is this??

Is the engine management light still coming on? If so get the codes read and post them up.
You dont have to go to a VW dealer, plenty independents have the diagnostic equipment and are much cheaper.
Dont start fitting new parts to the car hoping to get lucky.
