Mend Advent 4211c Freezing Work Frozen

How can I stop my mousepad/cursor freezing on my Advent Netbook 4211c? ?

When I switch my Advent Netbook 4211c on the mousepad does not work and the cursor is frozen in the middle of the screen. Pleae help!
