my ford transit diesel van is miss firing and smoking?

make sure there is not water in the fuel and also it might be the pump drive it hard throw the gears it will clear it it is when the fule pump is air locking its self it use to hapen to me thanks

Sounds like a possible bad injector .....you can take and loosen each injector line going to injectors and when you loosen a line and it doesn`t effect the engine you have found the bad injector ..if you have or know someone who has a temp sensor you can pinpoint which cylinder it is by which is the coolest temp
