How to make my "scrunchy" shirt Scrunchy again?

My hubby did the laundry, and washed my scrunchy shirt. Now it isn't so scrunchy any more. He used regular soap and fabric softener. Is there any way to make it go back the the original "finish"?

rewash it then rescrunch it straight away and then hang it up or lay it flat
