Hotpoint 1100 washing machine - leaking water from soap dispenser?

Hi,
I inherited an old Hotpoint 1100. It leaks water from the soap dispenser. Any idea on how to fix this?

had this on a washer/dryer wd860 hotpint I removed the pipe that gose to the pump and it was full of fluf no more leaks thank god

give the dispenser a good clean. i had this problem and it was due to the dispenser being clogged

Had the same problem on a Whirlpool due to hardwater limescale build up. Simple answer was to leave the soap dish open about 0.5 to 0.75 inches. Worked a treat and hasn't leaked since. Would test this first though!

I have the same problem!!

anyone know how to fix it?

my husband tilted the machine back a bit more, which helped a little bit.....if you wanted to try that...... but mine does still leak, just not as much.
