how can I fix cosmetic damage to hotpoint ceramic hob?

I tried to remove a mark from my hotpoint ceramic hob, went at it too fiercely and have actually removed the black paint leaving a silvery coloured spot on an otherwise black surface. Can I do anything to hide this so that it is less noticeable?
