How to remove air bubbles from snow globes?

I am repairing a snow globe and have only one problem I can't seem to remove the bubble. Does anyone know how to remove the air bubble in the snow globe when reassembling? I don't want to have to poke a hole in the rubber gasket and then reseal with silicone. We've tried adding water but doesn't seem to work. What else can we try. I wish someone would write a book on snow globes including repairs and where to purchase accessories.

put the globe gently inside a bucket of water to avoid the snow to escape the globe. when it's completely filled, close it inside the bucket.

Here's a cool site I found.
It's not a book on snow globes but it does have lots of products and info.

Would placing a straw into the opening for the snow globe solve the problem. I haven't tried it yet, but that's my idea. Insert a straw into the bottom of the globe, continue to add new water until the air bubble surfaces - so to speak.

Okay, this may sound silly, and it's just a shot in the dark, but I would try filling it as full as I could with cold liquid, tightening loosely, and dipping it into warm water until the liquid inside expands and begins to ooze out the top. Then tighten it firmly and see if the bubble's still there.
Worth a shot.
