how can i fix my mixer tap?

I have taps over my bath with a mixer that allows my shower to work. When I pull the knob up to allow the water to go upto the shower it doesn't instead it continues to come out f the bath taps?? It was fine yesterday!

When you pull the shower knob up, a brass valve blocks off the bath flow part of the tap and redirects the flow up to the shower - I guess this has disconnected itself, and it should be unscrewable to see whats what.
