How to fix mechanical oil (gas) smell from clothes after washing?

Each time I wash a load in my Frigidaire front load washing machine, my clothes smell like they've been almost dipped in something that smells similar to gasoline. NO, nothing with gasoline was put in washer. Please please help! I have done an empty load, used vinegar, bleach, and if you touch the inside of machine after this, still smells like gasoline.
