Zanussi washing machine drum won't turn?

The drain pump had gone in my old zanussi machine (FL1085) - which my husband has replaced. But now the drum won't turn!
Is it because when he turned the machine upside down it has disturbed something or
is it because the machine has been trying to spin with a drum full of water (cos drain pump was broken) and worn something out.
How can we fix it?
