Suzuki GS500E, 1999?

Hi all, my front engine mount has snapped off my engine casing! it is gone! any idea's on how to fix it? any help would be very much appreiciated.

yea i see what you mean, nice idea, i wondered how reform it & keep it uniform so the M.O.T engineer did'nt fail me on it. that could just work, thanks alot john, much appreiciated mate.

As the casting lug has snapped, and presumably there are no oil leaks, the only thing that you can really do is to use epoxy putty to reform the mount - it won't be very strong however so let the other engine bolts take the load. Use some large diameter washers to spread the load on the repair if you can.

Just to claify, the actual cast has snapped where the bolt goes thought but has not cracked the rest of the casing

Thanks john, yes its cast:( the mount has snapped away but theres no fractures in the casing, the other mounts keep the engine firmly in place so i considered using metal oxi putty (cold weld) what do you think, Safe?

Ye gods! Has the aluminium casting actually fractured? Sounds like another engine is needed if it has. New crankcases - if you can get them - are a huge price. If its the steel frame that has let go, thats easier.
