Mend Ford Mondeo Draining Empty Drain

DRAINING MONDEO TANK - PETROL IN DIESEL!!?

My son's put 13litres of PETROL in his diesel mondeo (P reg), it was almost empty. I would like to drain the tank. The engine was not started.

I have located the fuel sender unit in tank top but do not know how to remove it. If I could I could syphon from tank.

Any ideas appreciated because as per usual he's got my car and I'm stuck with his.
