I followed all the instructions, bought new cartridges and still not joy. I then cleaned and recleaned the contact points on the cartridge and inside the printer plus cleaning the interior and the print heads ... after multiple cleanings, this worked for abut 10 pages the the same error message appeared again.
I had foolishly bought a cartridge refill kit from a different supplier. I later discovered this ink had bled straight through the cartridge completely saturating the absorber pads. From all this I discoved the problem to be a very dirty printer. Then like a dumba$$, I decided to try to disassemble the unit and give it a through cleaning. You can guess the results.
So, the moral of this story is you must be triple sure of your refill supplier. Some work right and some don't! Lesson two, don't try to disassemble the unit. Fresh absorber pads do not seem to be available and you are just asking for aggravation and trouble. A professional cleaning might work ... if you can find a reliable service center. Get a price for a cleaning before taking the unit in.
