Mend Glow-Worm 55F Heating Boiler Exchanger

Glow-Worm Fuelsaver 55F. Very noisy boiler.

Although this boiler is of the ancient variety it is however still working perfectly. The problem lies with the initial boiling process being extremely noisy. Unfortunately the instruction manual is of little use. I am led to believe that in most cases this noise is due to air trapped within the exchanger system. This could be true as I have drained and re-filled the system fairly recently due to adding extra pipework and radiator to the system. (Although it has taken some time to get to this noisy stage?) I have bled the exchanger twice with no better results. Could there also be solder remnants stuck in this part of the system that are being churned around making this noise. If so then will I need to strip the exchanger out to clean these deposits out?

I know from your question you are no expert. No offence. Is it open vented or a sealed system - I suspect open
before spending your dosh - check if the water flow rate through the boiler is high enough AT ALL TIMES -- make sure the pump is on high speed - and or a bypass if you have one is sufficiently open. Forget bleeding the heat exchanger - it will be full - -leave heat exchanger alone. You must check flow rate first. Then you can try your sentinel chemicals. Don't forget it is possible to have faulty heat exchangers from new. Believe me I worked for the one of the biggest manufacturers for 40 years.

hi,
you need to go to a plumbers merchant and get some boiler descaler/noise reducer sentinel x400 and drain and add it into a radiator in the system
if that doesnt work, get some desludger sentinel x 300 (i think) and run the heating for A COUPLE OF WEEKS WITH IT IN; THEN DRAIN FLUSH AND REFILL WITH INHIBITOR X100
