Belling Microwave BEL CJSS25 no longer heating food?

Hi,

I see other people have had problems with this make/model and it's suggested to check internal fuses. Does anyone know what make/model etc the internal fuses are and if they're easy to get hold of?

This is the 3rd replacment Belling I've had. First one bought end of 2006 and lasted 5 months, Currys replaced it then the 'replacement' lasted 7 months then stopped working exactly like original one. Currys again replaced that one and 3 rd replacement just last 14 months (not fit for purpose if you ask me)....but Currys won't admit that and replace again due to 2 months over guarantee!

Any help one fuses would be welcomed.

Thanks

Helen

I have the same problem after 18mths light use, currently sat here with the thing in pieces and I've just located the fuse in question. It's housed in a black plastic case at the bottom and connects the big transformer to the capacitor on a red lead, inside is a glass fuse rated 5KV 0.8A. Off to maplins for a replacement, will let you know if the next one pops or lasts.

It is a T8 20 mm quick blow fuse, mounted on right top corner.Only probem is two of the 5 screws are special screws. But easy repair, and fuse is £2.99 in Maplin electronics.

Most fuses have the rating either printed on the body or stamped onto one of the metal end caps.

A guy on here (microwave engineer) suggested the door interlock switch is a common failure in microwaves - he then suggested that this causes the fuse to blow but the more I think about an open circuit switch causing a fuse to blow the more I doubt his wisdom... might be true.

There are VERY high voltages in microwaves and dangerous radiation so take great care.

Fuses are rated by Length - Voltage & Current - there are regular fuses, fast blow and slow blow fuses and several other types too - see...
