Mend Belling Light Oven

How can I change the light?

I have a A Belling Format 600XR Oven
The light that illuminates where all the knobs are has started to flicker
I have had the Oven for at least 20 years
I need to know how to get to the light soas to change it

It's a 13W T5 fluorescent tube.
While you're at it you might want to replace the starter as well, it's behind the control panel.

The way I've accessed the tube is this:-
Switch off at the mains
Remove the hinged glass cover (pull out on the front of the hinges and slide it out)
Undo the two screws holding the top metal trim
Remove the knobs (the knob skirts are brittle, you'll probably break most of them, but the knobs themselves are fine) and the buttons, they all just pull out
Undo the screws holding the panels either side of the glass control panel (one each side)
Lift out the glass and panels in one piece and place on top of the cooker (watch out, there's an earth wire on the left hand side, which is why you're placing it on top where it can reach)
Undo the four bolts holding the metal control panel in place
Pull forward and lift up, the starter can now be accessed (unless you have fat hands) - it's a twist-in type the same as any normal fluorescent starter
The tube can now be easily replaced too, just twist 90 degrees and remove

To refit the panel, locate the bottom behind the little rubber pegs and push the top back into place, then reverse all of the above instructions.

you need to remove the two silver plates - top and bottom of the glass control panel - there are 3 small screws on each. Remove all the knobs - they do all pull off even though it feels as if they wont. The glass control panel then lifts off and you can access the light. Its a slim flourescent tube - 18" i think , 12 or 13w. Took me a long time to work out how to access this, but did it yesterday on mine and working brilliantly again.
