Mend Diplomat 2500 Fan Switch

Cooker hood fan switch failed?

I have a type 2500 cooker (100 cm) hood above my Diplomat range. The lights come on but the on off switch does not bring the fan on. How do I get the unit out and replace it with a new one. Does it have to come off the wall.
