Hotpoint Aquarious WD 440 1400 SPIN BLOWING FUSES?

My Hotpoint Aquarious wd 440 washer dryer is only two years old and is tripping the house mains board.

Sometimes the washer panel will light up when the on/off switch on the washer is turned on, only to go off again on its own without tripping the house fuse board.

If you try to select a PROGRAM on the washer then it will immediately trip the house mains fuse board.

The filter in the washer is clear and the drum is free to turn. I wonder if this is a common fault with this model and someone can point a finger at the source. It is obviously shoring out somewhere,do they have mainboard problems or i have heard it said that the mains lead to the washer can sometimes burn out causing an intermitant fault.
