on the ford transit version, if you start and it cuts out the normal problem is the air gap on the crank position sensor. ldv and transits use the same 2.4 puma engines.

just a point ,dowel may be fitted into crank but may be stuck in old flywheel - check old unit to seeif it is

don't think it will need re-coding, but if flywheel is in wrong position [i.e. dowel missing]it will need g/box out and flywheel off to fit dowel. could you check from where you got flywheel if dowel comes with it or do you have to swop it from old one.

Thankyou for your ideas.
I dont know if i fitted Flywheel incorrectly i did not know that it matters, and again i did not know aout the dowel.
The Flywheel if correct for the vehicle and i have checked the wiring and seems to be okay.
Some one said to me i will have to get the vehicle re-coded, have you heard of this.
Ps. would it mean gearbox back out.

possibly something to do with crank sensor -situated about 12.05 looking to front from underneath,fitted into flywheel housing.have you fitted flywheel in correct position [did you swop dowel over to new flywheel-if not this could be your fault] if you did ,is flywheel correct for vehicle [has it got cutouts for crank sensor]i take it you've checked wire connection.
