Mend Peugeot 306 XLD Front Suspension

Can i repair Peugeot 306 ?

Can i strip down and repair the front suspension strut on my Peugeot 306 XLD diesel 1994. It was leaking oil for a while but has stopped now. somebody said the clonking noise on pulling away and rolling to a stop is caused by it having no oil in it now. I don't get it any other time and all other parts are o.k.

if there is no oil left in shock absorber then the suspension will become bouncy and noisy. cant say that this is the source of your noise, but if it is you will need special spring compressors to replace shock absorber. also it is advisable to replace them in pairs.
