Mend Craftsman 917.377820 Lawnmower Engine Repair

How do I fit the engine on my Craftman(Mod No. 917.377820) lawnmower?

When I pull the start rope the engine turns for a short distance and then locks up. When I take the spark plug out the engine turns freely but large amounts of oil come out of the spark plug hole. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
