Mend Miele Cat and Dog MAX Vacuum Suction

Miele vaccum very noisy, losing suction, smelly?

I have read in another thread, that the bearings may be to blame for a very noisy vacum with slight plastic burning smell. Looking at my vacum I can not see how to get to the motor to check the bearings. Please help.It is a miele cat and dog MAX. It is not an upright.
