how do i remove a grohe skate plate to reveal the cistern

Hi if its the same one i'm thinking of you lift or slide it and it should pull away. There are no screws just that its almost 'clipped' in.

Sorry a bit vague, but its quite easy! Just try moving it across or up and it should pull away.
