how do i time my briggs stratton engine up ??

how do u time a briggs stratton engine up ?
iv striped it down and can not retime it .

What model engine.

Pedestrian rotary briggs engines have non adjustable timing once factory set. The timing marks are on the plastic valve sprocket and on the gear on the crankshaft (both inside the engines sump) Both marks need to be facing each other prior to re-fitting the sump and hey presto it's time up correctly.

Normal set up on briggs is to take piston to top dead centre then carry on past so piston goes down 1/4"

Set inlet gap to 4 thou
set exhaust to 6 thou
