renault magane scenic?

my automatic did not want to start unless i rev high and then put my foot on brake still reving and put in gear ,when i am driving along it makes a clacking noise that is really loud and as soon as i brake to slow down it cuts out and i lose every think.i managed to crawl back home at about 10 mph,can you help?
