Mend Ford Fiesta LX Clutch Engine

High engine revs when I change clear and put clutch in?

Why does my 1.25 Ford fiesta LX '95 I think, start to rev high (up to 5000 rpm) when I dip the clutch, or change gear.
It's fine for the first 20 min or so of driving, then all hell breaks loose!

Your help would be very much appreciated.

. . hiya . have just bought a 96 fiesta and think it may be a clutch position sensor as i have the same fault on mine . . drives fine . . clutch in . revs don't drop . till gear engaged . . must get round to sortin it . but . .!!!?? .
