LDVR1608 Power-on gets stuck "Preparing"?

I have a LOGIK LDVR1608 DVD Recorder. After initial setup I put it into standby. When it came out of standby again the front panel of the recorder showed "Preparing" and the TV showed the HDD/DVD splash screen. After 10 minutes and with the front buttons on the recorder unresponsive I turned it off at the mains socket. Now when it powers up it shows "Preparing" on the front panel and the TV screen is plain blue. It looks like some kindof Power-On deadlock ...
