check the blue wire on the alternator sub harness [fits between alternator and cars harness] as its prone to get corroded and break

If you replace the alternator and the light still comes on but the van is still charging at 14.5v it is most likely the ECU as the van has a smart charge system which is monitered and controlled by the ECU.

assuming tick over not to slow, alternator brushes are approaching there wear limit may be able to get a replacement brush set. if not its a replacement alternator job
