ford saphire 2.0 ghia i?

Help needed please, this car has suddenly started jerking in all gears. When counters below 2 and half thousands revs, or anything below 30mph. Any ideas as into the cause would be greatful as it has started to get worse,and looks bad when in town trafic. car runs fine over 30mph.
