how can i fix my ford galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia 2002. heater?

possible that the water pump impellor is just spinning free and not attatched to water pump shaft , not worked on these before but id take the top off your water bottle (when engine is cold ) look inside and see if the water is "flowing"/swirling .if ya cant see take the little return pipe off to the bottle and check the flow with it off should flow nicely out at tick over (not little trickle ),get some one to raise revs 2-3000rpm and see if flow picks up shuld flow fast (point pipe in to a container or in to top of the water bottle ).if not water pump need replacing ,hope this helps .
