MY CAR WONT MOVE?

If I leave the handbreak on on my car for more than a couple of hours, and even though i release the hndbreak, it sticks, as in, the car will neither go forward or backward and it sounds like each wheel makes a large bang while I'm trying to tempt it to go forward, it takes about 2 minutes to get it to move. However when I leave the handbreak off, i have no problems.
