Mend Water Stopped Running

How can I fix my water cistern?

My cold water suddenly stopped running in my bathroom and toilet, I have been into the loft and knocked on the water cistern in case it was just an air bubble but nothing has happened any suggestions?

Not being funny Margaret but i take it there is Water in your Cold Water Tank? If there isn't and it's not filling up again after it's been emptied then your problem is the ballcock which would need to be replaced as it may have stuck, especially if it's full of scale if you're in a hard water area.
