Candy Nova cdc 266 condenser dryer Fan Direction??

Hi, my dryer kept tripping the electric at the dis board. I stripped the machine to find the fan at the front of the machine had come off the shaft. I repaired this fault and built back up and the tripping seems to have stopped. I am not sure if the fan is running in the correct direction as the clothes dont seem to dry very well and the water collection tank never collects any water. I re-fitted the fan with the retaining clip facing towards the front of the machine. When the drier is running it suck's air in at the front and blow's air out of the back. Is this correct?? I presume that the drier should suck air at the back, then heat it and blow it into the drum at the same time sucking the damp air from the drum, through the filter into the condenser and water tank and through the suction fan out to atmosphere. Not quite sure? I am a qualified electro mechanical engineer and would have no problem reversing the direction of the fan via the capacitor polarity. Many thanks, Mike
