Hi, just wondered if anyone has had the same problem or if I'm on the right track?
My Zafira has been starting up from cold very badly...it starts but nearly stalls for about 10 minutes then runs badly and is very sluggish. At about 2000 revs the car kangaroos.
I added Redex today to see what happens and noticed if I keep the fuel cap loose the engine runs lots better but not perfect.
Could there be a blockage somewhere in the fuel system? If yes, how do I go about fixing it?
My 2006 reg Zafira starts first time when cold but when it is warm and I stop the engine it does not start .I spray easy start into it and it starts first turn It is a 1.6 petrol any ideas?

can anyone help. Starts first time runs ok but stalls when stopped at a junction but will restart straight away

EGR VALVE can cause the same problems however I found that my problem was that my cat had packed up.

i have the same prob only car starts brill and runs brill, but when i stop and try to resart the little yellow car with the spaner on it flashes and this will not let me start the car untill she cools down. i have changed the water temp sender , the hot film mass airflow meter and still no go . help

mechanic does'nt know what the fuel trim means, vauxhall zafira 1.8 2002, can any one help me out please

Hi, changed fuel filter and still the same.
Went to local garage, put it on computer and came up with fault code P0170 Fuel trim.
Garage was puzzled and said he'd never heard of it before so no further forward :(

start with the easy things first, fuel filter when was that last changed? make sure there are no fuel leaks

if you can find your choke vacuum try bypassing it n see if that helps

Thanks Bob, my airflow sensor was changed about 4 months ago to sort out a similar but worse problem so don't think that is the problem. I've checked the connections and looked for air leaks around that area too.
