my dishlex when you turn the knob it starts without turning on the on button , then only goes for about a minute before stopping it is 13 months old

my dishwasher turns on lights up and then begins to start. It just stops after about 5 mins with the red light blinking. This has happened several times. Than out of the blue when i gave it a go today, it did the cycle normal. So what sort of problem do u think i have here?
