internet connect for advent 4489 in india wont work?

I am in India and bought the advent 4489 just to use on the trip. It wont connect, it says it is connected to theTata indicom wifi but when you try to connect to the internet it says connevtivity problems diagnose connection problems go to tools internet connections etc etc,
Im fed up with it!
Please help Ive changed the connectivity to wep etc
