how do i get the thermostat temp to stay high?

You've got to open up a bit - you know - say a bit more about it. Is it a boiler that heats the house? Tell which one.

Are the room stat and timer/programmer both asking for heat?

Does the boiler fan run?

All this and more may be useful in helping people to make you warm again.
