Mend Cooker Top Lower

What can I put under my cooker to raise it up higher?

I am tall so I have higher than usual worktops, this means the top of my stand alone cooker is 2+ inches lower than the worktop on either side. Would it be a fire hazard to stand it on another piece of worktop? Any other ideas how I can get it more level?
