what is wrong with my aeg competence b1180-4-m oven?

I have recently had my aeg competance repaired - both the cooling fan cut out and thermal cut out were blown. This is the fifth similar fault in four years. I have written to aeg for an explanation and refund of servicing costs - after talking to trading standards. The address is aeg customer services, addington way, luton in bedfordshire, lu4 9qq. Judging from the number of similar problems on howtomendit.com alone - I suggest we all do the same.

I have the same oven, but I find the cooling fan doesn't come on, so the top stat cuts the power.

What controls the cooling fan? there is a small device, covered ina blue platic shroud, connected by blue and white wires to the cooling fan. This looks like it has overheated/charred. does anyone know what this is?
