How to fix SPL-S242D Shredder (Staples brand) ?

I have a broken gear inside this shredder. I just talked to a lady from the manufacturer who told me that unfortunately, for liability reasons, they don't have any parts available. This shredder is basically garbage and needs to be replaced. I'm very disappointed because it was a great shredder and I expected to at the very least be able to take it somewhere for repair. Oh well....gotta move on.

gotta get rid of it. it is unrepairable only replaceable if under warrenty..... thats what i was told about mine... what a sad story!

How can I clear a paper jam from the center of the shredding mechanism. I can't free the pieces by pushing the reverse button and when I try to open the top by removing the side screws noting opens to get at the center of the jam.

What can I do. The 800# was no help.

It will reverse shred somewhat, but not go forward

I have paper jam. I have cleared all visable paper from the rollers inside and out but when I try to run the shredder all it will do is go forward and it will not engage and go in reverse. What else can I do?
