Mend Peugeot 406 Fault Ideas Petrol

peugeot 406 immobiliser fault, any ideas how to fix?

I have a '02 406 2l petrol estate automatic, worked fine, got in this morning would not turn over. Thought battery flat, tried to jump start, would not, but when jumper cables connected and ignition on 'immobiliser fault' flashed up on screen above radio. Any suggestions how to reset immobiliser? Battery is flat.
