even though the knob is turned up to 9 it doesnt get any hotter all the top burners are working perfectly

Diane, It looks like the ffd has gone on the oven. The gas that is passing through now is like a "pilot" it heats up a probe filled with a fluid that then expands and opens the ffd fully . New ffd should cost about £25.00 but will need CORGI engineer to do job that will probably treble the price
