noisey boiler?

my myson housewarmer makes a banging noise like trapped air can this be fixed

I had similar problem, so made sure there was no trapped air in system, this did not work so I read somewhere on the net that it could be limescale, so i put a tube of Fernox Rad protector into the system and ran it for about an hour and all the knocking disappeared, Hurrah!!
