What is a smart box on a power lift recliner?

I have a power lift recliner I had purchased from Weatherby's furniture store. I plug in the power source and nothing happens. I called the store and they mentioned the smart box might be the problem. It is located underneath the recliner and as 2 connections.
model no. SLT-XO4-K5. P/N RM260182, S/N009473. made by Berkline.

It seems that it is a box that has problems. I called medicalcentersupply.com and they were very helpful with my problem. You might try them if you haven't already.

I have a problem with a Berkline chair, I believe the
smart box is damaged. The smart box appears to be
used on multi-function chair with more than just the up
and down features; for example the chair I am working
with has up/down/lock/unlock the wand/ heat/and
masage. The smart box appears to be a control and
distribution center for powering the various features.
