Mend Lead Flashing Roof

How do I temporarily fix a lead flashing?

Hi

I have a pitched roof on a garage which is part of the main building. The lead work which protects the garage pitched roof, has come away from the main building, causing in bad weather an internal damp patch and looking at the timber a bit of rotten fascia.
Now I am going to get the thing dealt with later on in the year but for now I need to protect it from the heavy rain we are having. It also has an effect on the electricity supply by shorting out the downstairs lighting ring and this only happens during heavy rain.
Can anyone help?

use flashband and a bitumen primer from roofing suppliers or B+Q .Be aware primer will stain brickwork, use a seam roller to press flashband into position, tip prime edge of flashband to help with sealing.Flashband and/or primer can be applied to brick or lead.

if the lead is still there fix it back in position must be the thing to do.
if it has not been nicked dress it (ie bash it just enough without damage) back into the wall chase wedge it and repoint.
failing which do the same with roof felt or a tarp if desperate.

Send digital pictures of it to robertwhiting76@hotmail.com and I might be able to see what you can do as a temporary job without it I could only guess a repair. Think of house insurance it may cover the garage roof being attached.

Effecting electrics: Find source cable disconnect if you feel confident enough to do so if not call electrician.

On a dry day ONLY.
Turn on the garage lights then turn off the house FUSE feeding downstairs lights only NOT the master switch on the fuse box. If garage lights are also off then that's proved the garage light/s are on that fuse.

You now have the job of finding the feed cable from the house to the lights or to a junction box then lights. That feed cable should then be disconnected and he wire put in to 3 segment electrical strip and well wrapped to keep out water and tack up away from the leak and possible prying hands.
If you still get the lights problem in hous then it's serious requiring electrician.
