how to replace or fixed heater matrix v.w golf?

hi common fault on mk2 golfs are heater matrix,used to be a recall on them,dash doesnt need to be removed as the the whole heater box comes out from under the dash,you do have to remove n/s and o/s lower dash trims though ,i should know iv'e changed loads.heater cables and controls come out together with the heater box.

take the dash off and more or less everything else the heater matrix is tucked behind everything .
make sure you log the sequence each bit comes out .
It will take a few hours to get to the matrix . itself .
remember to disconnect the pipes in the engine bay .
it is not a job for the faint hearted .
it is very time consuming give yourself plenty of time to put evrything back as it effects most of the car if you get it wrong
