How does one service a keyless chuck on a drill?

Everytime that you use a Bosch drill to drill a hole in a masonry wall and it gets dust into the chuck it is a struggle to loosen the chuck. How can one clean it and what can be done to prevent this sort of problem?

Are you crazy??? NEVER put oil, grease, WD40 in the chuck!!! All these lubricants will cause the dust to stick inside the chuck. As for the carboard collar - barking. Get over youselves

spray the chuck with wd40 every so often and open n close it so the oil penetrates the chuck.

If you haven't cured it already
Follow Neil the Wheels instructions for removing the chuck and maintenance.
Then each time you drill masonry make up a carboard cone large enough to fit around the chuck with the top end opening equal size to fit around the drill bit. tape or 'Blue Tack' the cone to the drill bit that will stop dust getting in the chuck it cured my dust problem. Or you could even use a small plastic funnel, shorten the spout end as required and fix as above.

There should be a reverse screw inside of the chuck, that you need to undo. Then you should use 2 pairs of pipe gripes one onthe chuck casing and one on the shaft to undo the chuck off the shaft. then use some sort of lubricant to grease up the chuck and that should give you a chuck that loosen easier.
